  • Los Angeles is served by several airports. The two that are most convenient for accessing USC are Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR).

  • Rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft are popular choices for travel. Waymo, a driverless ride-hailing service, is also available in certain areas of Los Angeles.

LA Metro Buses: LA Metro Buses provide connectivity throughout the Los Angeles area, and a number of lines can take you to the USC campus.

LADOT Buses: You can easily access the SCA campus via the LADOT DASH F bus. The closest stop to the School of Cinematic Arts is Jefferson/McClintock, which is located right outside a campus entry point.

LA Metro Trains: USC’s campus is also serviced by the E line (Yellow) Metro train. The closest stop to the School of Cinematic Arts is Jefferson/USC, which is about a 12 minute walk away.

  • LAX is 15.8 miles from the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Burbank Airport is 20 miles from the USC School of Cinematic Arts.

Rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft are popular choices for travel from both airports.

LAX has implemented designated rideshare pick-up lots with a free shuttle service; you can read more about the LAX-IT program here.

The Flyaway Shuttle Service also offers nonstop service to and from LAX to Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles.

  • Cardinal Gardens Apartments (USC Student Housing)

There are a limited number of furnished apartments available to rent by the night at USC’s Cardinal Gardens. These are 1- and 2-bedroom apartments (each bedroom with two single beds) for student housing that are vacant in the summer. It is conveniently located across the street from the University Village with restaurants, Trader Joe’s and Target. This is also a very short walk from the Cinematic Arts Complex. They are offered at a reasonable price on a first-come basis here (usually starting sometime in March): https://housing.usc.edu/index.php/summer-guest-housing/

    The USC Hotel

We’ve secured a small block of rooms as the conveniently located USC Hotel, which is just of campus, a ten-minute walk to the Cinematic Arts Complex. Information coming soon.

    Other Options

Los Angeles is full of hotels and rentals (though not always cheap). The most convenient options to USC will be downtown or Koreatown. Buses and short Uber/Lyft rides are the best way to get from these areas to USC. Another option would be to stay in midcity, if you plan on visiting the Herrick Library and Academy Museum while here. These would be a 20-minute drive to USC but could be convenient for other activities.

  • We will be offering morning coffee and lunch Friday—Sunday and a reception on Thursday evening. All other meals are the responsibility of conference attendees. There are several options within an easy walk of the Cinematic Arts Complex for snacks and meals:

Coffee Bean is inside the complex and will be open on Thursday and Friday of the conference.

The USC Village is a very short walk across Jefferson Blvd. There you will find:

    Starbucks Coffee

Cafe Dulce: counter service for coffee, matcha, sandwiches, salads, and pastries.

Rock and Reilly’s: Sit-down pub fare.

Cava: Fast casual Mediterranean bowls and pitas.

Trader Joe’s: A supermarket with fresh and frozen products

    Bruxie: Fried chicken and waffles

    Il Giardino: Made-to-order pasta

    Ramen Kenjo

Chinese Trendy Food: Casual Chinese staples

Greenleaf Kitchen + Cocktails: health-focused American food
